the view from my patio/ porch

my little wedge/pie slice garden has lots of cuttings that are rooting

the veggie garden will be the one farthest back that is a rectangle. The sticks mark my Mora( black berry) bushes

the garden between the citrus trees are just extra plants from the side of the house

the gardens we redid on the side and front of the house, and Steve did all the side walk edging.

JUNGLE LODGE

A friend in language school told me how her Mom took the grandchildren for a week and had a special "Camp" for them. It sounded like fun and here is our version. ( thanks Emily) The first day was warm and nice though windy. The beach is not usually that rough with waves.The second day was cool and rainy.
We took the 6 oldest for an over night.

We had rules:
#1obey
#2 listen
#3 be kind to you brother , sister, cousins
#4be safe
#5 have fun

we went for Jungle walks.

we cooked hot dogs on a stick at the beach.

we swam in the lake.

we watch the jungle book movie.

early morning activities

we ate banana leaves and grubs for breakfast.

ready for another day

we went deep into the jungle.(Goshen Farm)

we saw a snake.

we went to the swamp in the row boat.

can't wait for JUNGLE LODGE 2010!!

summer

55 years ago was my first summer vacation in Maine.
Then I lived in Maine till after high school.
I brought my husband to Maine for vacation and years later we brought our children to Maine for vacation.
We all lived in Maine for 20 years .
Now we are headed back to Maine for summer vacation.
Staying at Lake Pequawket and swimming, and boating.
A day at Ocean Park in the Atlantic ocean.
Family , family and more family.
Watermelon, marshmallows and camp fires.
